Home Cooking

The Taste of Home Cooking School is a one stop shop for all things related to cooking and learning to cook. You can go to cooking classes/demonstrations, like the The Taste of Home Cooking School Made Easy program, it is a 1-1/2-hour-long program available at select locations across the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic regions, with easy to prepare recipes.
Their site has tons of great recipes, sorted into easy to navigate categories, and the difficulty level is from extravagant to easy to prepare. The recipes include holiday favorites and meatless and vegetarian dishes.
The forum section looks very lively with subjects ranging from cooking questions and tips of all manner, stretching a dollar, discussions about cookware, recipes--the list goes on and on. There are thousands and thousands of posts, so if you want to discuss or learn or share this is definitely a place to go.
The healthy cooking section does makeovers of recipes that might be a bit on the high fat/calorie content side and gives them a lite rendition. They have selections of healthy menus for every meal of the day and tools and advice for a healthy lifestyle.
On the website there is a video section with a large selection of how to cooking videos. They are helpful, but I found them to be short with not enough detail. It is a useful resource and a great way to get a quick overview on how to cook a particular dish. Videos are always a great way to learn since a recipe is important for the ingredients, but a recipe doesn't usually 'show' you how to make it.
Overall, this is a great site to find recipes, learn to cook new dishes, and connect with tons of like minded people. You can even shop online through the site for most all cooking related items.
If you want to improve your cooking skills at home stop by http://CulinarySchoolnewyorkny.com to learn about the variety of education opportunities to improve your cooking skills at home
